FortiClient SSL VPN Setup Guide for Remote Employees
- Download the latest release of the FortiClient VPN from Fortinet's website here or from the provided executable attached to this KB (UGN provides no guarantee that this release is kept up to date and recommends you go directly to Fortinet for your download). Depending on your operating system you may choose Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android or iOS. Note that only a Windows executable is attached here.
- Follow the prompts to install the VPN. Please note that administrative rights are required, and a reboot may also be.
- Once install finishes, open the FortiClient VPN and agree to the terms/conditions.
- Next, when prompted, configure the VPN as follows and hit "Save".
- Next, go to your settings and ensure DTLS is enabled (as shown below). You may have to select the lock icon in the upper right corner to permit changes be made to your application.
- Finally, hit connect and login with the credentials provided to you by your support representative. If you have not been given any wait until further instruction to avoid account lockout and related issues. If your login fails with a generic numerical error (-8, -14, -7200, etc.) follow the link below to submit a ticket.
